About the event

https://www.melbournerecital.com.au/events/2020/gone-without-saying/ Formed in 2010 by composer-singer Gian Slater, Invenio Singers comprises some of the most exciting and forward-thinking creative vocalists in the country. Performing predominantly a cappella music, the ensemble creates an expansive, celestial sound world that both unifies and honours the singers’ individual voices.

Gian Slater’s acclaimed vocal ensemble Invenio Singers performs its seminal work of primal beauty, astounding vocal artistry and heartbreaking emotion, Gone, Without Saying. The work is a close inspection of communication without words. We share a wordless space which is vital yet incomplete, essential yet thwarted. Intentions are lost or misunderstood. We fill silences, but long for moments of space to say what we really mean. Gone, without saying was Gian Slater’s debut work for Invenio Singers that premiered nearly 10 years ago, setting its aesthetic, musical and ensemble approach on a unique trajectory.

Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and Invenio Singers
